Who are we?

Richard Scranton
Richard Scranton serves as soloist and principal trumpet of the Westerville Symphony, and solo cornet of The Scioto Valley Brass and Percussion Company. He has appeared as soloist with the Springfield Symphony and the Upper Arlington Community Orchestra as well. He performs frequently throughout Ohio in both orchestra and chamber music settings. You may find Richard serenading veterans to their final rest or tooling along six lane highways imperturbably on his bicycle. Perhaps his eight mile daily bike ride to work and back contributes to his awesome lung power. His trumpet teachers included Eugene Blee, Charles Pagnard, Richard Chenoweth, Basil Drew, and Paul Baver. The University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory awarded him a degree of master of music performance. We concur, and so will you!
