Melissa Robol
Melissa Robol, our booking agent, was a Professor of Suzuki Piano at Capital University until its Community Music School closed in 2007. She now maintains the private Suzuki Piano Robol Studio. She serves as pianist for Galena United Methodist Church. She studied classical music with Harry McClure, pianist for Eugene Ormandy’s Philadelphia Orchestra, and jazz with Bradley Sowash, who has been featured on PBS’s popular “The Piano Guy.” She serves on the executive board of the Ohio Music Teachers Association (Central East District), providing public service performance opportunities for students. Melissa teaches several students at the Ohio State School for the Blind in the spirit of Dr. Suzuki, who developed his pedagogy to teach a four-year-old blind boy. Melissa performs in local museums and cultural centers. A collage of her image and objects reflecting her personality is in an album of American portraiture along with photographs by Avedon, Ansel Adams, Warhol et al. She played for Ross Perot’s team of commandos after their attempt at liberating POW’s in Vietnam, for John Glenn in his Presidential campaign, and several Russian churches. Melissa customizes lyrics to public domain songs by special request.
